Surgery Training Afternoons
Every few months the practice closes for an afternoon to allow us to undertake training for staff and GPs. This means that, on that day only, all our three surgeries close at 12:00 instead of 18:30. On these afternoons, access to a GP is provided through the Out of Hours Service; you will be automatically directed to them from our usual surgery number.
When We Are Closed
Harmoni/Care UK is now the provider for Out of Hours Services in this area.
Local call rates apply for both numbers.
- The out of hours service is for emergencies only – from 18:30 to 08:00 weekdays and 24 hrs Saturday/Sunday
- Please do not use these numbers for repeat prescriptions, test results or routine appointments.
- If you need to speak to your own Doctor or any member of the practice team please contact the Surgery during normal opening hours: 08:00 – 18:30 Monday to Friday.
Urgent Treatment Centre
The North Colchester Walk in Centre relocated to the Urgent Treatment Centre in October 2019. It is based at the front of A&E at Colchester General Hospital, Turner Road, Colchester CO4 5JL and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Accident & Emergency
In a critical or life threatening situation go to the A&E Department at Colchester General Hospital. If you think immediate treatment by Paramedics is needed call 999 for an ambulance.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
